Announcing Version 1.0 of macos_ui!
Greetings, Flutter developers!
After the stable release of Flutter for Windows, and the promotion of desktop support to Flutter’s stable channel, we began to see an explosion of community support for Flutter on desktop platforms.
Notable among this early support were the excellent fluent_ui
and yaru
packages, which aimed to implement the latest design systems from Microsoft and Ubuntu, respectively. Those packages have gone on to become the go-to for a native look-and-feel for Flutter developers who wish to build applications for those ecosystems.
After a few months, I saw no equivalent for macOS, so I decided to take on the project myself.
One year ago, I announced the first beta of macos_ui
, a package that aimed to create themes and widgets that implement the latest macOS design system. That first beta was pretty sparse, but it was a great start.
Since then I have been quite hard at work, with the assistance of several wonderful contributors; we’ve done some incredible work that I am truly proud of, and I have learned so much. Today, I am delighted to announce that macos_ui
has reached its first stable release!
Go try it out and let us know what you think! Feel free to open an issue, start a discussion, or send me a Tweet!
